Every year, the major car rental companies move thousands of cars in their fleets from the Northeastern U.S. to Florida in order to meet demand for the peak winter rental season in Florida. This is known as the Florida drive-in, and it’s often a great time to score a great deal on a long-distance one-way car rental.
Earlier this year, Avis Budget Group offered identical drive-in promos from both Avis and Budget starting at $22.99 per day, which was significantly higher than last year’s deal for $13.99 a day.

In the past few days, both companies have just sweetened the deal by dropping the price substantially. Now Avis and Budget. One-way rentals from the Northeast to Florida start at $14.99 per day for all categories up to full-size, and then climb to $99.99 per day for a premium full-size SUV.

For Avis, Participating Northeast pickup locations include: Albany, Baltimore, Boston, Buffalo, Hartford, New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Providence, Richmond, Washington DC and Norfolk.
Budget doesn’t specify participating Northeast pickup locations.
Timing
The offer is valid between September 3, 2019 and October 31, 2019, for one-way rentals only. The vehicle must be picked up at a participating Northeast location and returned to a participating Florida location.You can rent the car for a minimum of one day to a maximum of 14 consecutive days.
