Tired of renting the same old, same old? If you’re itching to take something special for a spin, look no further than Enterprise’s Exotic Car Collection for some of the most sought-after sports cars, SUVs, convertibles and luxury vehicles. With coveted brands like Audi, Ferrari, Maserati, Porsche and Jaguar, you’re sure to find a car that turns heads. However, the process for renting one of these exclusive vehicles is a bit different than the standard process. Here’s everything you need to know about renting a car from the Enterprise Exotic collection.

What is the Enterprise Exotic Car Collection?

The Enterprise Exotic Car Collection launched in 2006 to serve the luxury market. It is now available in more than 80 locations in the U.S., as well as at some branches in the U.K. and Canada.

The Enterprise Exotic Car Collection is known for providing hard-to-find models from the most coveted brands. Its selection covers a variety of vehicle types including sports cars, muscle cars, convertibles, luxury sedans, and SUVs. It’s not every day that you can rent jaw-dropping models like the Maserati GranTurismo convertible or Aston Martin DB11 sports car, but it can be possible here.

The selection and availability of vehicles you’ll find at Enterprise Exotic Car Collection depends on the specific location where you’ll be renting. However, locations tend to carry a wide variety of cars under one roof.

How the Enterprise Exotic Car Collection Works

Renting a car from Enterprise Exotic Car Collection is a bit different than the standard process. Most luxury cars can be rented online, as you would with a normal reservation. But you may have to call to arrange a reservation for the most exclusive cars.

To rent a vehicle from the Enterprise Exotic Car Collection, you’ll need:

  • To be at least 25 years old
  • A valid driver’s license
  • A credit card from a major issuer that can cover the reservation costs and security deposits charged at the time of the rental. Debit cards cannot be used to secure the reservation, but can be used to pay at the end
  • “Fully transferable insurance” in your own name that can be verified. Generally, coverage from your primary auto insurance will extend to a rental vehicle. Be sure to check the limits of that coverage.

How Much Do Enterprise Exotics Cost?

The amount you’ll pay to rent a car from the Enterprise Exotic Car Collection depends on the type of car you rent and how long you’ll have it.

You should also plan to pay a higher security deposit for your luxury rental than you would with a standard vehicle. Security deposits also vary, but a good rule of thumb is that the higher the car’s value, the higher the deposit. One renter policy we reviewed online indicated that this authorization could be $500-$1000 in addition to the cost of the rental, although that amount is likely higher for the most expensive vehicles.

Exotic cars may also have mileage restrictions, so be sure to clarify the rules when speaking to an agent. For example, we found a luxury Mercedes S450 SUV in Scottsdale with a mileage restriction of 200 miles—anything above that costs 50 cents per mile.

It’s crucial to double-check whether your existing auto insurance policy will cover such a high-value rental, especially if the car you have at home is nowhere near the cost of one of the vehicles you plan to rent from Enterprise.

Renting an exotic car from Enterprise can be loads of fun, but just make sure to read the fine print and understand the insurance requirements before signing on the dotted line.
