There was a company headquartered in Michigan called Executive Car Rental. It appears to have gone out of business.

In 2019, Detroit-based Executive Car Rental and the Michigan attorney general reached a settlement stemming from complaints from customers about misleading charges and damage deposits. The attorney general investigated Executive for alleged violation of the state’s Consumer Protection Act, which included multiple complaints about $250 deposits not being refunded within a reasonable time. The $39,500 settlement includes provisions that requires Executive to stop collecting security deposits and ensure that customers can complete a walk around of the vehicle to check for any pre-existing damages prior to leaving the lot.

According to The Detroit News, Michigan’s Attorney General’s office reached a nearly $40,000 settlement agreement with Executive Car Rental in March 2019. The action followed a wave of customer complaints alleging that the company failed to return damage deposits in a timely manner. There were also other billing issues. The agreement required the company to stop collecting security deposits and allow customers in Michigan to inspect cars for damage.

Executive was not accredited by the Better Business Bureau (BBB). It racked up 546 complaints on the consumer protection website due to a pattern of complaints related to returning deposits. In addition, there were “billing issues” related to the Florida SunPass toll program.
