Without a doubt, the rental car options are numerous at the sprawling Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The giant airport consists of eight terminals, but they are all connected by a constant movement of shuttle buses. All of the rental car options are located off-site, but they offer shuttles to locations close to the airport.
The New ConRAC at LAX Airport
Since 2019, construction has been underway for the 6.3 million-square-foot Consolidated Rent-A-Car (ConRAC) facility at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). When completed, it will have over 18,000 parking spaces, including 6,600 ready/return spaces and 10,000 idle vehicle storage spaces. Reportedly, the facility will be fully operational in 2025.
Eventually, in 2026, the ConRAC building will include a station on the LAX Automated People Mover line. The people mover will operate 24 hours a day. During peak hours (9 a.m. to 11 p.m.) trains will arrive every two minutes. From the LAX ConRAC, it will take 10 minutes to reach the West Central Terminal Area (CTA) station.
As of October 2024, only the Avis Budget Group—including Avis, Budget, Payless and Zipcar—is operating out of the facility. Eventually, the facility will host a total of 13 brands: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Europcar, Fox, Hertz, National, Payless, Sixt, Thrifty and Zipcar.
Rental Cars at LAX Airport
To find rental car shuttles at LAX, head to the lower arrivals level located just outside the baggage claim area. Also, authorized rental car companies pick up passengers under the purple “Rental Car Shuttles” signs.
To reach the ConRAC, follow signs to the baggage claim area, proceed outside and wait under the purple Car Rental Tram Stop Sign for the Avis courtesy bus which will take you to the new ConRAC.

There are also six other companies that meet customers at the Remote Rental Car Depot at Century and Airport Boulevards. These include ACE Rent a Car, Airport Van Rentals, Allied, Midway and Priceless of Los Angeles. Most of these companies pick up their customers curbside on the west side of the ConRAC facility.
