Did you recently rent a vehicle from Sixt Rent a Car? If you dropped off the car at an after-hours drop box or did not have time to wait for a receipt, you may be wondering when you’ll receive a summary of all the final charges for the reservation. But there’s no need to wait. Here’s how to look up your Sixt receipt online.

One of the main reasons you might check your Sixt receipt as soon as possible is to ensure the company did not add any unexpected charges or withhold any portion of your security deposit. While Sixt estimates how much your rental will cost when you pick up the vehicle, it can add several different types of charges in addition to the base rental rate as well as additional insurance products.

Sixt Receipts Online

Sixt sends a rental receipt to the email you provide when making a reservation, which may take up to three days to arrive. The invoice will include the estimated rental charges you saw when booking the vehicle, as well as any additional fees the company decides to add after inspecting the vehicle after drop-off.

If for some reason you haven’t received the email, log into the bookings section of Sixt’s website with your account information. You should be able to download the invoice from your recent trip.

Need to look up an older receipt? No worries. The document may not appear online, but you can still request one. Sixt also allows customers to file a ticket with customer service to retrieve receipts more than six months old.

Sixt Car Rental App

One of the easiest ways to check your Sixt receipt is to sign up for the free Sixt Status Program and use the Sixt mobile app. Hit the “Booking” button and then check under “My Bookings” to see your rental history and invoice. Downloading the app also provides a wealth of other perks, including mobile check-in and special coupons.

How to Dispute an Unexpected Charge

Common additional charges include fees to refuel the vehicle, cleaning fees or damage charges. To avoid being on the hook for surprise charges, take photos of the vehicle’s interior and exterior to show the car’s condition before you turn it in. It also can’t hurt to snap a photo showing proof that the car was returned to the correct location.

Keep in mind that Sixt can also add charges long after the company sends you a final receipt. These may show up on a separate invoice weeks later. This is often due to tolls or traffic tickets registered by the car’s transponder that may take several weeks to process.

Additional billing charges can cut into your security deposit. Keep in mind how much Sixt charged you for a deposit, and ensure the entire amount returns to your account in the weeks following your reservation. If the amount refunded to your card looks off, look up your Sixt receipt online to see whether the company included any extra charges on the receipt.

To dispute a damage claim, email claimsmanagement-usa@sixt.com or call Sixt’s damage department at (888) 749-8555.
